Giorgio Fresh, a division of Giorgi Companies Inc. located in Phoenix, Arizona has an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance Technician. Giorgio is the nation’s largest suppliers of mushrooms, delivering fresh mushrooms to a diverse customer base throughout the United States.

The Quality Assurance Technician will ensure the quality of all products leaving the facility meet customer and Giorgio Fresh standards and ensure that all of the Company’s standard practices safety/health programs, GMP’s, and HACCP procedures are followed and documented.

:

· Ensures production scales, metal detectors, and thermostats are calibrated and in good working condition.

· Participates in customer, GMP / food safety audits.

· Monitors and records cooler and product temperatures.

· Checks weights of product.

· Performs a daily pre-shift food safety inspection. Documents the inspection. Follows up on any identified deficiencies.

· Checks labels to ensure containers show correct codes, expiration dates, and correct product.

· Collects and prepares for shipment product samples.

· Conducts new hire and periodic GMP food safety training.

· Records data into the Company’s computer system (Produce Pro).

· Assists in other tasks as assigned by supervisor and/ or manager.

· GMP / Food safety experience.

· Ability to work in a cooler environment.

· Ability to read, count and perform basic math.

· Good computer skills. Experience with Produce Pro is preferred.

· Ability to communicate and work well with others to ensure smooth functioning of department including the ability to communicate in both English and Spanish.
